Transformative Projects for Community Amenities and Enrichment
In celebration of the San Jose Multi-Purpose Cooperative’s 60th Foundation Day on September 22, 2024, the cooperative aims to implement programs and initiatives geared towards enhancing social development and fostering community welfare.
The San Jose Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SJMPC) and LGU San Jose are driven by a shared vision of progress and community welfare. Their collaboration underscores their commitment to fostering sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life of Antiqueños. Through their joint efforts, they aim to create inclusive opportunities and promote equitable access to essential services for the betterment of the entire community.
SJMPC has provided financial assistance to the local government of San Jose in its endeavors to enhance tourism and stimulate local economic growth by improving amenities. Funding for this initiative is sourced from SJMPC’s Community Development Fund (CDF) designated for infrastructure projects.
Construction of a Public Toilet Facility and Passenger Lounge
One collaborative venture currently underway involves the construction of a public toilet facility integrated with a passenger lounge. This initiative addresses the need for accessible and hygienic public facilities, especially in areas with transportation hubs.
The joint efforts aim to address the immediate demand for sufficient restroom facilities and welcoming passenger lounges in South Terminal Trade Town Funda-Dalipe. Beyond just convenience, this project promises significant improvements to public infrastructure and services, creating a more comfortable and efficient environment for everyone.
Installation of Removable Stage at the Diosdado Macapagal Trade and Promotion Center
SJMPC has also provided financial support for the improvement of the Diosdado Macapagal Trade and Promotion Center. This support includes the installation of a sturdy, removable stage to overcome limitations posed by the current design. The Promotion Center plays a vital role in hosting various community events and activities in San Jose. However, the constraints of the existing stage became evident during its use as an isolation facility during the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. By adding a durable, removable stage, SJMPC and LGU aim to make the center more flexible and capable of hosting diverse events, ensuring it remains a dynamic and inclusive space for the community.
The anticipated completion of both the Public Toilet and Passenger Lounge project and the stage installation at the Diosdado Macapagal Trade and Promotion Center is expected before the end of May 2024. We look forward to these amenities serving the community by June 2024.
Through collaboration and innovation, we work towards creating a more inclusive and vibrant community, where everyone’s basic needs are met with care. As these projects progress, we urge community members to stay engaged and supportive, as together, we can build a better future for all.
